Matt’s practice focuses primarily on litigation, with a focus on Probate and Trust litigation, Elder Law litigation, Conservatorship litigation, and Real Property related litigation. In addition, Matt handles the administration of estates and advises individuals and businesses on transactional and employment related matters.
Matt prides himself on working closely with his clients to find practical and cost-effective solutions to their legal problems. He has developed a reputation as one of the brightest and hardest working attorneys on the Central Coast. Matt was honored as a “Rising Star” in Northern California in the area of Estate and Trust Litigation by “Super Lawyers” from 2013 through 2020 and as a “Super Lawyer” in Northern California in the area of Estate and Trust Litigation by “Super Lawyers” from 2021 through 2024, the only lawyer so honored in this practice area for each of these years in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.
Matt earned his B.A. degree in History from the University of California at Davis, graduating with honors. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 2006. While in law school, he was a member of the Constitutional Law Society and the Sports & Entertainment Law Society.
Matt and his wife Julie reside in Carmel Valley with their sons Hayden and Austin, and their daughter Charlotte. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, reading, and- most of all- spending time with his family.
