Luis’ practice focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax planning. Prior to joining Johnson, Fantl & Kennifer, Luis worked for Central California Legal Services. There, he represented indigent clients in unlawful detainer proceedings and in affirmative cases that combated unlawful debt collection and discriminatory housing practices.
Luis earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California, cum laude. He earned his J.D. from the Tulane University School of Law, where he also studied estate planning and taxation. While in law school, Luis was a member of the Environmental Law Clinic, appearing before the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal on behalf of indigent clients. He also volunteered to advise and help the Tulane community as part of the school’s free legal assistance program.
Luis is a member of the California State Bar and the Monterey County Bar Association. He enjoys golf, snorkeling, and playing with his rescue dog (a German Shepard-mix named Princess).
